Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2, 2026

This policy explains what information Timer Owl (https://timerowl.com) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The site is operated by Golden State Web Consulting ("we", "us"). Questions: hello@timerowl.com.

The short version

  • You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name or contact details to use the site.
  • Timers, countdowns and calculators run in your browser. The times and dates you enter are not sent to us.
  • We do not sell your personal information for money.

Information we collect

Information you give us

If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you include. We use it only to reply, to fix listings or errors you report, and to keep a record of the conversation.

Browser storage

The site remembers a few settings in your browser's local storage, such as your alarm sound, volume, theme, stopwatch laps and any dates you count down to. This stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Notifications and screen wake

If you allow it, the site can show a browser notification when a timer ends and keep your screen awake while a timer runs. Both are handled by your browser and can be turned off in its settings.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse and produce aggregate traffic statistics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

We may use privacy-friendly analytics, such as Cloudflare Web Analytics or Google Analytics, to understand which pages are useful. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies and collect information such as pages viewed, referring site, device type and approximate location derived from IP address.

Advertising and cookies

Timer Owl does not currently show advertising. We may add display advertising in the future to support the site. When we do, the following applies, and we will update the date at the top of this page.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info or networkadvertising.org.
  • To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
  • Other ad networks we work with may also use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies, and may collect information such as your IP address, device identifiers and browsing activity to show and measure ads.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features may not work as expected if you do.

Your choices and rights

EU, UK and Swiss visitors: where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies used for advertising or analytics, using a consent tool certified under the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. You can change your choices at any time through that tool. Our legal bases are your consent (advertising and analytics cookies) and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site (server logs).

US state privacy rights (including California): depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we have collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. When advertising is active, we will provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" option. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required. To make a request, email hello@timerowl.com. We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Do Not Track: there is no common standard for browser "Do Not Track" signals, so we don't respond to them, except for GPC as described above.

Children

Timer Owl is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Data retention and security

We keep emails only as long as needed to handle the request and keep reasonable records. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider under its own retention policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but the site is served only over HTTPS and stores no accounts or passwords.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. Please read their policies.
